It’s not just a trip down memory lane – it’s a front-row seat to the machines and the minds that moved mountains, paved highways, and shaped skylines. “The exhibition focuses on the major themes of Caterpillar, telling the story of our past, our present, and our future,” says Lee Fosburgh, Caterpillar’s Chief Archivist. “We wanted to leverage our archive collection – which includes over 1 million hard-copy photographs and over 100,000 digital images – to showcase a side of Caterpillar not many people get to see.” The Heritage Gallery now features four reimagined showcases, each telling a unique part of Caterpillar’s story.
• The Innovation Exhibit takes visitors through a century of groundbreaking machinery, showcasing the company’s commitment to progress and problem-solving. From early steam-powered tractors to today’s cutting-edge autonomous equipment, this exhibit highlights the continuous drive for improvement.
• The Heritage Timeline offers a visually compelling journey through Caterpillar’s rise from humble beginnings to a global powerhouse. This section lays out key moments in the company’s evolution, demonstrating how Caterpillar machines have played a crucial role in shaping infrastructure worldwide.• From the Vault is a must-see for history buffs. This display brings out rare artifacts and quirky memorabilia, revealing lesser-known aspects of Caterpillar’s history. Think vintage advertisements, blueprints, and one-of-a-kind prototypes that give a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s journey.
• The Project Content Wall showcases Caterpillar’s role in some of the most awe-inspiring engineering projects in history, from the widening of the Panama Canal to the construction of China’s Three Gorges Dam. This display underscores the global impact of Caterpillar’s machines and the people behind them.
